Now in its fifth year, the definitive broken beat DJing yardstick Breakspoll is back and looking to collaborate thousands of votes from around the world. After a huge response last year (Breakspoll 2005 Results ) were over 10,000 votes were cast things are expected to be even bigger this year. Voting will begin on January 01 2006 with London club Fabric hosting the awards ceremony on February 23.
The night will include a strong varied breaks line-up, with Radio 1’s Annie Nightingale presenting the awards alongside breakbeat don Danny Mac. Radio 1 will also present dedicated slots on various specialist shows highlighting the event, all culminating in a special broadcast live from Fabric as part of Annie Nightingale’s Radio 1 show. The 2006 edition will also include party carrying on the next evening with a ‘day after party’ at London’s SEOne club. More details on that to follow.
February 2006 will also see the release of the first of the ‘Superstars of Breakbeat’ CD's with FreQ Nasty taking control. News on this, the line-ups and more coming soon.
