Maetrik (real name Eric Estornel) will play a live set at The Loft club in the Sala Razzamatazz complex in Barcelona at the end of the month.
Having released music as Maetrik on labels including Treibstoff, SubStatic, Morris Audio, Onitor, Immigrant and Brian Anheurysm's Iron Box Music, 2005 saw Estornel release his second full-length album on Treibstoff, "Casi Profundo". The Maetrik sound can also be heard every third Thursday on his monthly show on Proton Radio, Dexterity Music Hour.
Last year also saw the beginning of a new chapter in Estornel's production career with the creation of a new moniker, Mariel Ito, reserved for his explorations of the electro sound. 2006 will see the release of his debut LP, "My Cyborg Depths", as Mariel Ito on the SCSI AV label.
Maetrik performs live at The Loft, Barcelona on Saturday, January 28th with support by resident DJ Omar Leon.
