Following the last of the Nastydirtysexmusic parties, comes Smokin' Jo and Terry Hart’s latest venture, Nude - a night of 'electro, deep twisted dirty house and minimal' beginning February 11th.

The name of the night, is not the colour of Smokin' Jo's favourite lipstick - she doesn't wear any - but was instead thought up by partner, Terry Hart. She explains, "We wanted a simple, no fuss name that said it all as Terry says we are all born nude, equal, and individual. Our night celebrates that; be yourself, enjoy life, Nude is about letting yourself go and having a laugh."

Nude will have Smokin' Jo as its resident DJ plus the Nude residents, Mazzy Supastar and Luke VB & Tim Red, the young up-and-coming talent from the East End electro scene. Guest DJs on the first night at Ministry of Sound on February 11th will include two of Smokin' Jo's favourites, Dan Ghenacia and James Priestly (Secretsundaze) plus Dollz at Play and Yr Mum Ya Dad, described as 'crazy club kids with an eclectic mash up style'.

"The main room will be tuffer dirty house, minimal and electro; the bar more sexy electro and the baby box - a right old mash up. There will be a couple of PAs in the baby box and we have a singer/MC in the main room called Colin. He is amazing; none of that wailing diva stuff just cool, twisted deep snippets and talking -- it works really well with the music, " says Smokin' Jo.

Expect to see avant garde performers, dancers, a contortionist, aerial artists, male & female pole dancers and a night of theatrics and some 'very weird and interesting things' going on throughout the night. "It's all about having as much fun as possible. Clubbing I think, can get very serious. All that heads down, plodding around on the dancefloor; we want people, to come and go nuts!"

And if the occasional punter turns up starkers, says Smokin' Jo, "Well that did happen at The Key when we opened in May last year, we had to get the guy to put his leather jockstrap back on!!! Not a good look at all!"comment Post a comment
