- Uk DJ Mike Monday of the label and club Playtime and former outfit Beat Foundation with Groove Armada’s Andy Cato, kicks off his Australian tour this weekend.
Mike Monday (UK) was once part of Beat Foundation with Groove Armada’s Andy Cato. He has long since branched out, taking that fork in the road to a steady solo career and making a name for himself.
In 2005 Mike's profile has exploded with a solid run of killer productions that have had booties shakin' in the danceworld. Mike’s own record label Playtime has contributed to this effect with a big run of huge dancefloor thrillers. The label is an offshoot of Mike’s residency at the club Playtime, which he co-founded with Big Daddy G.
With Mixmag nominating him as “the remixers’ remixer” and DJ magazine quoting Playtime as “one of clubland's finest inventions”, Mike Monday is definitely the one to watch. His downunder tour provides the perfect opportunity to get in quick and check out his nastydirtysexmusic.
The tour kicks off this weekend at Bamboozled at the Playpen in Prahan, Melbourne. Mike will be playing alongside Boogs, Spacey Space, Rowie, Tahl, Clint Hargreaves, U-One, Special K (Fun 80's set) and Jr Kid. Entry is only $10 on the guestlist or $15 general. It's a Gilligan's Island theme for this month's Bamboozled, so don't forget to dress up!
