Thanks to the kind editors at Germany's Groove magazine, we can now reproduce the results of the Groove Magazine Reader's Poll 2005 which were published in the January 2006 issue.

Fast becoming THE dance music poll to watch, in recent years it has seemed like readers of Groove have become one step ahead of the game, making the rest of us feel like we're playing catch up. For instance, in the 2004 Awards more than twelve months ago Dominik Eulberg and Mathew Johnson took out Best Newcomer and Best Producer respectively.

However onto the results for 2005 and as expected the winners were very much geared towards the minimal house, techno and electro camps with plenty of German artists filling out many of the positions in each category.

Predictably, Cologne beast Kompakt took out Best National Label with Richie Hawtin's m_nus taking the Best International Label ahead of James Holden's Border Community.

Dominik Eulberg, who last year was voted Best Newcomer, stepped up to take Best Producer from runner-up Trentemoeller, who in turn picked up Best Newcomer ahead of Oliver Koletzki and young guns Alex Under, John Dahlback and Alex Smoke.

Oliver Koletzki walked away (perhaps surprisingly) with Best Track for 'Der Muckenschwarm' in front of more likely contenders Ame's 'Rej' and Mathew Johnson's 'Marionette' while Luciano's remix of Argy's 'Love Dose' was voted Best Remix.

Richie Hawtin's DE9:Transitions was awarded Best Compilation in a vote which saw three of the Top 5 compilations coming from Sven Vath's Cocoon Recordings while Isolee's 'We Are Monster' pipped Depeche Mode's 'Playing The Angel' to take Best Album.

Unlike many UK and US polls, four of the Top 20 places in the Best International DJ vote went to females in Magda, Miss Kittin, Jennifer Cardini and Chloe. Ada came No.4 in the Best Live Act category which was won by Alter Ego with Anthony Rother as runner-up.
