Another day, another label seems to be the trend nowadays as a thriving independent scene encourages creative thinkers to have a crack at heading up their own label. One such man taking up the challenge is Richard Davis, founder of Dirty Beat Records.
Formally known as 'RIC D' Promotion, a name change to correspond with the underground sounds the label are hoping to push has seen this small independent setting its sights on a big 2006.
The labels next track is in conjuction with Sproradic-e Studios with remixes from Kasabian and Davie Bowe. Having DJs like Filthy Rich, Jim T Fish and JD Sparxx associated with the label and small club nights to road test the future labels aural treats the new formula is set to expand over the pond sights Richard: “We will now be able to send our DJs on tour to territories like Amsterdam, Belgium and Singapore to promote the label and releases strategically, with the knowledge that every gig performed counts towards developing their profile in that region.” Inspired by the deep and dirty sounds of intimate London club nights this could be one label to keep an ear on.
