  • Back in the day, the Renaissance period was the cultural era that gave rise to Leonardo da Vinci and Donatello. Nowadays Renaissance still has its place in modern day culture. However these days it's perhaps more known as the dance music institution which gave rise to some of dance music's greatest DJs and artists. On the latest release in their flagship compilation series, 'The Master Series', Renaissance welcomes back Dave Seaman, one of its most successful artists who notched up worldwide sales of over a hundred thousand copies for his previous Renaissance 'Awakenings' and 'Desire' releases. On 'Renaissance The Master Series Vol. 7', Seaman takes over from Argentinean DJ, Hernan Cattaneo, whose previous Master Series CD was one of Renaissance's biggest-selling releases to date. Says Dave Seaman about this new compilation for Renaissance, "I still get excited about doing a 'Masters' CD, as it's one of the most recognised and respected series in an over-populated compilation market. It's always a challenge (and this was no exception), but I think there's a great balance of top names, hidden gems and future classics." Die-hard progressive fans will argue progressive house is not dead in perhaps the same way that some rock ’n' roll fans insist Elvis is still alive and this is what what comes to mind upon first read of the track selection of 'Renaissance Master Series Vol.7'. While still very much paying homage to the progressive sound Renaissance helped to pioneer, Seaman has called on some of the finest progressive and electro house producers around: Suicide Sports Club aka Brancaccio & Aisher, Luke Dzierkek, John Dahlback, 16Bit Lolitas, Luke Chable, Matthew Dekay, Phonique, Oliver Moldan, Buick Project plus old friends Bedrock, Slacker, Charlie May & Sasha, Sean Quinn & Andy Page and Killahurtz, to spice things up.
