Frankie Knuckles, a seasoned veteran of the scene earmarked them as one of the leading lights of a new breed, so its no surprise to see the Shapeshifters joining forces with the legend himself for his WMC party.
Acting as an official warm-up house party to the conference the event will take place on Thursday March 23 at Shine located inside the Shelborne Hotel, South Beach.
Both artists will be celebrating the release of their 2006 albums. Knuckles first invited Simon Marlin and Max Reich to play with him at the Def Mix / Pacha Ibiza party last summer and such is the admiration he had The Shapeshifters remix dubs for his upcoming album ‘DubJ’s D’Light (a remixed reality)’. The album, released on his new Noise imprint will include dubs from Blaze, Quentin Harris, Groove Junkies and a special appearance by Jamie Principle. Knuckles own re-record with co producer Eric Kupper of “Whistle Song Revisited” is planed as the first single from the album.
The Shapeshifters debut album ‘Sound Advice’ will contain a No.1 and Top 10 single and across the 12 tracks help stamp their presence as one of the hottest house producers of the past 18 months. The album will be out through Positiva / EMI this month.
