WMC Party Propaganda : Hernan Cattaneo and NYC's Robots at the Resident Advisor Party

Eins, zwei, drei, vier, funf, sechs, sieben, acht. Kraftwerk? Yes. Music by numbers? No. Expect to hear nothing but quality and diverse music at the Resident Advisor party at this year's WMC with Hernan Cattaneo and the NYC Robots, Bill Patrick, Nick AC and Dennis Rodgers.

Last year, RA made its debut at the WMC with Hernan Cattaneo, and this year again, South America's biggest DJ will be playing his only main set club gig of the conference at the Resident Advisor party.

"In the past 5 years I've always had a very good relation with RA because I especially like the fact that they are a truly global website attracting the attention of electronic heads from all over the planet. Then last year, they asked me to do their first night at the WMC. The party went really well so here I am headlining another one, " says Cattaneo.

Joining Hernan Cattaneo in the main room at Shine will be a select group of surprise guest DJs, too exclusive to announce, who Cattaneo will spin back-to-back with. Can he give RA readers any heads up on who'll be spinning?

"The RA crew made me promise them not to tell so I can't. But I can say there will be a really good variety of class DJs, and again with a real global concept as both me and RA always try to push."

Hernan will be previewing a lot of material from his forthcoming Renaissance "Sequential" compilation so expect to hear new tracks from Way Out West, Bushwacka, 16Bit Lolitas, Nick Muir, Trisco, and his own new track with John Tonks.

Ensuring we finish the conference week off in true closing party style, are New York City's dirty, deranged and electronic Robots: Bill Patrick, Nick AC and Dennis Rodgers, who will take residence in the Shine Lounge.

The Robots Lounge will be the first port of call for stragglers landing at the RA party and Bill 'I play music to take drugs to' Patrick advises, "Don't just stand there and stare at me like the broken down piece of drug-waste you are. Offer me something to help me get through the night!"

We asked Nick AC if he could give us any advice on how to 'do the robot' in the Robots Lounge?

"Ahhhhhh....yes, the ancient technique. Basically you need to drink several shots of tequila."

Dennis Rodgers (in true propaganda style), predicts, "All the tracks off the Boeing release on [our new label] We Are Robots to blow up floors...and anything by Matt Darey" while Nick AC also namechecks the Boeing release and Kraftwerk's 'Numbers' as two definite signposts in his set.

Hernan Cattaneo and the Robots: Bill Patrick, Nick AC and Dennis Rogers play the Resident Advisor Party at Shine @ The Shelbourne Hotel in South Beach on March 28th.comment 74 Comments

Fri, 31 Mar 2006I had a fantastic time at this party. Thanks Paul for sorting out my friends that tagged along with me, you rock! As far as the music, it was definitely stuff that I loved and appreciated. Although, I did get dragged outside by the poolside to have a chat with some dj's that you might know. I will say one thing. Throughout this entire conference I did random babbling to fellow conference goers and got the word out on RA, it was amazing to see how many people actually already knew about the... More

Fri, 31 Mar 2006The party turned out to be a great success and everyone was having an amazing time. Loads of people rolled through, both the industry set and just those WMC hangers-on, for the whole night. It was a great way to end the week and I got a chance to see loads of people throughout the night.Music-wise I thought Hernan did a good job keeping everything in check. Most DJs were really rocking it (which was good as most people were not there for a 'journey') and when HC would step back up he tried... More

Fri, 31 Mar 2006The  party was seriously rocking ... unfortunately had to leave a little before the end (think Paolo was on as we walked out) to sort out one or two things before going to the Circo loco party @ Nocturnal. ^^ about the latter i can only say -- utter, utter, madness.
