  • Serbia's Exit Festival has been confirmed for July 6-9, 2006 with DJs including Richie Hawtin, Tiga, Nick Warren and Dave Clarke headlining the Dance Stage. Taking place within the historic Petrovaradin Fortress on the banks of the River Danube in Novi Sad, the Exit Festival offers one of the most unique festival experiences you're ever likely to have. As in previous years, the Petrovardin Fortress will once again house 18 performance arenas including the Main Stage and Dance Stage. There will also be an extreme sports arena, a technology zone, an NGO zone, an open air cinema, and hot air ballooning. This year, Exit will be hoping to fill the void left by the absence of Glastonbury with approximately 600 performances expected to take place within the three square kilometre castle complex. The line-up will feature a diverse selection of live bands and dance acts spread across a multitude of genres including hip-hop, house, techno drum & bass, indie, world music, latin and rock. The full line-up of artists has not been released yet, but confirmed acts so far include Franz Ferdinand, Pet Shop Boys, Suzanne Vega, HIM, Technasia, Tiga, Nick Warren, Richie Hawtin and Dave Clarke (who last year cancelled his scheduled appearance at the festival due to the London bombings). Last year, RA braved planes, trains, automobiles and a helluva lot of mud to attend Exit 05 so check out the review and photos from last year's festival if you're thinking about going to Exit 06. Limited advance tickets priced at €66.75 for the 4-day event are now available.
