  • Air Recording’s will wait until the 5th month of this year for their first single release of 2006, but assure us that it will be worth the wait. Extending the labels musical remit even further with ambient techno ‘Where Is It?’ by Will Saul features the distinct vocals of Ursula Rucker. The combination has received well documented support with Ali B championing the single for his ‘Ali B presents Air Breaks’ compilation. ‘Where Is It?’ was originally an instrumental, but Ali and Will had always felt a vocal would complement the track’s lush electronics. Following a meeting with Ursula Rucker after a Jazz Café gig, they played her the track; she fell in love with the instrumental and offered to write an original song for it. Evil Nine take the original firmly into the main room, with a techie thumping breaks offering on the flip. This release follows previous releases on the Air Recordings label from Mr Velcro Fastener, Tony Faline, Texan breakbeat stalwart, DJ Love, and the most recent Ali B vs Jungle Brothers’ ‘Beats On A String’, ‘Where Is It?’ will be released on May 1.
