The annual Melbourne Breaks Unite (MBU) party is on again this Saturday 29 April in Melbourne. The first MBU party was held in 2005 with the idea of drawing together the various breakbeat crews in Melbourne, to foster goodwill, increased communication, and to unite for an all locals massive breakbeat party! The event was a huge success, and this year MBU gears up into their ultimate aim, of uniting the breaks crews to raise money for charity.

This years event is a fundraiser for the Starlight Foundation. The musical range of the party has also expanded with now nearly 50 DJs/live acts playing d'nb, breaks, hip hop, funk and dancehall.

One hundred percent of the proceeds from the door and CD sales will go directly to the charity. The event unites the many crews and provides punters with a chance to see their favourite locals, as well as new talent, and performers from the many nights/crews on the Melbourne "breaks" scene.

For full event details click here. The set times for the three rooms are shown below. Check out our interview with a number of the DJs playing on the night via the link below. You can also visit the MBU website .

RA is also a sponsor of this great event, so we fully encourage you to get down to the Mercat this weekend and party for the Starlight Foundation!
