  • The chakras of psychedlic trance fans are all out of whack at the decision to ban rave and trance parties in Goa. Renowned as the birthplace of psychedelic trance, the Indian state attracts combi-loads of pilgrims from around the world to its beach parties. The decision was taken by Dr. Wilfred D’Souza, Deputy Chief Minister of the state government. “We have banned beach parties after 10 p.m. We don’t care about tourists who attend rave or trance parties. People better obey the directive,” warned D’Souza in a statement to the Mid-Day Mumbai. Pre-orders of special vegetarian meals on flights to India are set to plummet as the ban comes into effect but D’Souza was equally blunt as to its rationale. “Banning rave and trance parties will reduce the use of narcotics in the state.” Indian authorities have suspected for a long time that Goa is a haven for drugs, according to reports. Johnny, a drug dealer from Mumbai, told the Mid-Day Mumbai, “Whenever we’re running low of gear in Mumbai, there’s always a delivery from Goa.?
