Five years ago, a fledgling streaming media/software developer (fondly referred to by friends and colleagues as “Frisky”) set up his own SHOUTcast streaming server from his office in San Francisco, California. What began as a personal project designed for personal electronica listening, soon gathered underground momentum off the back of his desire to share the music he enjoyed with friends made in the scene. Soon Frisky had 20 core fans and hasn’t looked back since.

With an abundance of dance related radio stations now casting their aural shadow across the web there are a few that have maintained a long track record of supporting upcoming stars and showcasing a wide variety of sounds from established artists. A personal labour of love, the Frisky story is as warm as the sounds that emanate from hits regular shows. Frisky explains his motivation for maintaining the hectic work load:
“I love music! And I want to share it with as many people as possible. It’s my small gift to the scene and the music that I love so dearly and grew up listening to. My reward is when I get emails from fans telling me how much they love friskyRadio and artists telling me how being on friskyRadio has opened doors for them and their career.”
Showing no signs of slowing down Frisky’s upcoming highlights include:

June Frisky Radio Highlights
Pole Folder launches his new monthly show Destinations on 08 June. It will serve as a vehicle to showcase his live act as FR go along with him on his World Tour.

Luke Fair is the featured guest on Focus with a 3-hour live set recorded in Vancouver on 20 June.

Stel and Nick & John Delagelis launch their new two-hour monthly show on 27 June. Details TBA on site soon.

Martin Garcia returns to frisky exclusively for a two-hour event on 27 June.

Oliver Moldan is the Featured Artist of the Week on 27 June.

FriskyRadio Loves Greece, a special show in which FR features artists from a particular country or region. This month its Greece with V-Sag, Christian Cambas, Phatjak, Stel, G-Pal, Helen K, and more

Tune in and enjoy one of the webs most diverse and enjoyable electronic aural offerings.
