New mix by Cocoon Ibiza resident and Berlin tech house institution Tobi Neumann promises to capture the sound of the summer. Fliederlieder is out now on Cocoon Records.
Tobi Neumann is one of the unsung heroes of German tech house. Neumann came to the techno party late, discovering the Love Parade at 31 where he decided to become a DJ. He first made a name for himself as a remixer, rejigging the likes of Chicks on Speed and Miss Kittin before meeting Sven Vath who invited to join the Cocoon empire in Ibiza and Frankfurt. After residencies at the likes of Robert Johnson in Frankfurt and Amnesia in Ibiza, nowadays he’s also most known for his fine remixes of Dinky’s ‘Acid in my Fridge’ and Robag Wurhme’s ‘Wortkabular’, as well as his highly rated mix CD from 2005 ‘Pass Your Bedtime’. Expect quality German tech house, with a little deep house thrown in for good measure.
‘Fliederlieder’ assembles a who’s who current minimal tech house (Anja Schneider, Alex Under, Jacek Sienkiewicz), deep house (Frank Roger, Femi Kuti) and faves from his new adopted home of Berlin (Luciano & Melchior, Cassy, Tobias). Expect quality.
