A new music conference planned for San Francisco looks set to follow in the footsteps of its Miami cousin.
The Summer Music Conference (SMC) planned for September is the first annual electronic music conference and technology expo to be held in San Francisco and much like the Miami WMC, it's aimed at bringing together professionals in music, media, and technology.
The SMC will take place at various venues around San Francisco from September 27th - October 1st, 2006 with confirmed artists so far including Ferry Corsten, Green Velvet, Miguel Migs, Doc Martin, Terry Francis, Hipp-e, Nathan Coles, John Tejada, Justin Long and Julius Papp. One of the main events of the conference will be the SMC Festival on Saturday, September 30th, 2006 with key SMC events to take part at new San Francisco club Temple and the recently refurbished 1015.
The daytime program will include panelists and speakers from INGrooves, AOL Music, OM Records, URB magazine, Josh Gabriel (from Gabriel & Dresden) Vertigo Films, Nextaid, Electronic Frontier Foundation with other participants to be announced.
SMC All Access Passes which provide admission to all conference panels and presentations, the Technology Expo, discount entry to all official SMC Events and backstage access and free drinks for the SMC Festival are now on sale.
