Fabric - London

German deep house kings Âme are one of the first acts confirmed to play next year's Global Breakthrough event in Cape Town.

Global Breakthrough is a series of club nights taking place from February 16 to March 4, 2007 that aims to bring the vibe of the Miami WMC and Ibiza to the Mother City. It was Dave Seaman's 'Global Underground 016 - Cape Town' back in the year 2000 that first turned clubbers' attentions to the dance music scene in Cape Town and Global Breakthrough is hoping to do the same again.

Week one of Global Breakthrough will see the best of house, electrohouse and progressive on the decks with deep tech house and minimal techno kicking off the second week. Resident DJs from DC10, Cocoon and Space Ibiza plus artists on labels Global Underground, Azuli and Defected will spin at exotic locations in Cape Town including a private beach, a castle, a wine farm and a luxurious mansion.

After producing what is arguably the most played out song of the last twelve months 'Rej', Âme from Berlin deep house label Sonar Kollektiv can do no wrong. They recently notched up an Essential Mix on BBC Radio 1 plus have had big remixes on labels Zedd and Buzzin' Fly already this year. Âme will make their Cape Town debut when they spin at Global Breakthrough next year.

RA is an official Global Breakthrough media partner. Keep watching this space for further line-up announcements or sign up to the Global Breakthrough newsletter to get the latest updates.
