Cinematic breaks duo Hybrid release their third album 'I Choose Noise' next week. Expect more widescreen sonics, dark menacing beats and collaborations with Kirsty Hawkshaw, John "Quivver" Graham, Peter Hook and Perry Farrell.

Hybrid are early progressive breaks pioneers Chris Healings and Mike Truman. Debut album 'Wide Angle' (1999) which combined breaks and filmscore-like symphonies earmarked the duo as masters of wide screen breaks. The duo are also prolific remixers lending a hand to over 120 artists including Radiohead, REM, Moby and The Orb.

Third album 'I Choose Noise' continues on from the cinematic landscapes of 'Wide Angle' and the darker, rockier outings on second LP 'Morning Sci-fi'. The album includes collaborations with Porno For Pyros' Peter Distefano, film composer Harry Gregson Williams, Jane's Addictions' Perry Farrell, vocalist Kirsty Hawkshaw, prog house studio whiz John "Quivver" Graham and New Order's Peter Hook. Orchestral sections were performed by the 36-piece Seattle Orchestra so it's not exactly your typical laptop longplayer.

Mon, 10 Sep 2007I first fell in love with Hybrid when i heard thier Glastonbury Festival set (2004-06-26) in early 2005. This set is immense, i reccomend it highly. It can be found at the hybridized.org The quality of mixing and song choice could be compared to that of the other legends of the broad progressive genre ie. Sasha, Digweed, Sander Kleinenberg, Satoshi Tomiie, Way Out West, Dave Seaman etc

So if you get a chance to see them live or even dj then please go and prepare to be amazed

Mon, 11 Sep 2006They do a limited number of actual 'live' shows. Generally they tend to DJ.
