  • Canadian robot-rockers MSTRKRFT swap their vocoders for turntables when they tour the east coast of Australia this spring. The duo will play three dates in Sydney, Melbourne and the Gold Coast. MSTRKRFT is the pet dance project of Death From Above 1979's Jesse F. Keeler and Al-P. Their debut album 'The Looks' released in North America and Europe earlier this year combines house, hip-hop, grime and punk with vocoders and handclaps a dime a dozen. Think Canada's answer to Daft Punk. The pair have remixed artists including Annie, The Kills, Bloc Party, The Gossip, Test Icicles and Wolfmother. MSTRKRFT are also capable DJs whose sets include electro, glimpses of big-room house and plenty of disco references. In October the Modular peeps bring the duo to Australia for the first time with a three-date tour. MSTRKRFT Australian tour dates October 6 Brown Alley, Melbourne October 7 The Forum, Sydney October 8 Elsewhere, Goldcoast Tickets for all dates are now on sale for $22 plus booking fee. MSTRKRFT's debut album 'The Looks' including singles 'Easy Love' and 'Work on You' is finally released in Australia on September 2nd, 2006.
