  • Tech funk breakshead "Da Force" gets on the mic on his second longplayer. 'Modern:Primitive' hits record store shelves this October. Elite Force is breaks DJ and producer Simon Shackleton, or sHack to his email buddies. He used to front electronic punk outfit Lunatic Calm, whose track 'Leave You Far Behind' you might know from the 'The Matrix and 'The Jackal' soundtracks, but these days Shackleton is making breaks as Elite Force, mixing up big rolling breaks with dirty grinding funk, electro and house. Shackleton’s first album 'No Turning Back' set the blueprint for the sound of the Whole9Yards label and it was acclaimed as one of the standout breaks albums of both 2003 and 2004 (it was repressed). Other singles have appeared on compilations by James Zabiela and the Plump DJs, and Shackleton also contributed a track to the soundtrack for the Playstation game 'Wipeout Pure'. On 'Modern:Primitive' sHack dishes up more of his trademark tech funk and makes a return to the mic with twisted and sometimes ethereal vocals. sHack cites influences such as Ulrich Schnauss, Underworld and Sonic Youth so expect a sonic grab bag of electronica. Modern:Primitive Tracklist 1. Modern:Primitive 2. Coming Back For More 3. My Generation 4. You 5. Kinectic Connection 6. Return To Mindfunk 7. Heart of Darkness 8. Stranger 9. Unsung Hero 10. Shiva 11. Used & Abused 12. Stranger 'Modern:Primitive' is released on Adrift Records in October 2006.
