Hot off the heels of her Booka Shade and The Knife remixes, Dutch DJ Shinedoe unveils a debut long-player. ‘Sound Travelling’ will be released late October.
These days Shinedoe is one of Amsterdam's hot underground techno DJs, but she actually set out to become a dancer. Somewhere along the way she traded her dance moves for decks, first spinning drum’n’bass under the alias Black Magic Queen, and later moving on to techno.
Her debut single ‘Dilemma’ in 2004 got big support from the likes of Sven Väth, Laurent Garnier, Richie Hawtin and Ricardo Villalobos, but most would know her from her remixes. Shinedoe has retooled two of the biggest club tunes of this year, The Knife’s ‘Silent Shout’ and Booka Shade’s ‘In White Rooms’. Nice work if you can get it.
At home she’s known as a DJ who can move the room, holding down her Inmotion parties in Amsterdam and playing the big festivals across the Netherlands and around Europe.
‘Sound Travelling’ promises more of Shinedoe’s signature combination of Detroit influences and minimal. It’s being released on 100% Pure Records, one of the mainstays of Detroit-via-Amsterdam techno since the early nineties.
