  • September 23, 2006. Radioactivity is a weekly roundup of the best radio shows, podcasts and downloadable sets online. This week DJ Shadow, Danny Bonnici from Nubreed and Alex Under... *** Get Fuckpony: Fuckpony is the side project of Jay Haze and Samim on Berlin output Get Physical. This summer they released 'Children of Love', their debut longplayer inspired by Detroit techno, Chicago house and acid house. The pair have put together a special one-hour live set for DJ Broadcast, a new Dutch online radio station which also has sets by Matthias Tanzmann and Tim Sweeney. Fuckpony's set airs on Saturday 11:00 p.m. GMT+2. Click the Start Radio button on the homepage to access the broadcast. Parklife: This weekend the first of the Australia-wide Parklife festivals takes place in Melbourne and the Mix Up show on Triple J is featuring sets by some of its headlining artists including breaks duo Krafty Kuts and Tim Deluxe. Pick of the bunch is a deep tech house one by Danny Bonnici from Nubreed whose new compilation 'Electric 02' is about to drop on EQ/Stomp. Mix up airs Saturday from 9:00 p.m. - 1:00 a.m. GMT+10. The show is archived online for a week afterwards if you miss it going out live. Motor City head: This one's for all you Detroit aficionados out there. Submerge is a new podcast aimed at spreading the word about Detroit techno and its artists. The show is hosted by Natalie Chickee and "Magic" Mike Young who was one of the first DJs to run an electronic music radio show. The first show includes interviews with Ron Murphy, ghetto-tech godfather Mr. De' and Aaron-Carl who talks about his track 'Tears' and his album 'Detrevolution'. [via EnergyLab] Longplayers: RA's Radioactivity staffers already think Holland's VPRO is a godsend for its constant supply of live sets but this week we've discovered a section called Luisterpaal where you can listen to a bunch of brand new albums and compilations in their entirety for free. The current selection includes Air's 'Late Night Tales', DC Recordings' 'Death Before Distemper' and brand spanking new albums by DJ Shadow ('The Outsider') and The Rapture ('Pieces Of The People We Love'). Like what you hear? Don't forget to buy the album. Mutek 2006: Samurai.fm has uploaded a bundle of sets from this year's Mutek festival in Montreal including ones by Spain's minimal techno don Alex Under, RA podcast fave Mike Shannon and Monolake. Go to the Artists page and click on Mutek to see the full list of available sets. *** There you have it. If you have any links to fantastic music which you want to share with the world, post them in the forum or send 'em along to [email protected] with the subject line 'Radioactivity'. *** Radioactivity - delivered to your door with the milk every Saturday morning GMT.
