  • Wagon Repair's Konrad Black and production sausage machine John Dahlback play the new Technique and Asylum party in Leeds this Saturday. Headlining the new fortnightly party is Canadian Konrad Black who releases on Mathew Jonson’s Wagon Repair label. Like Jonson, Black has his roots in hip-hop, but these days he makes low-slung bass-heavy minimal. Besides releases on Wagon Repair, Black has done remixes for Get Physical, PIAS and Crosstown Rebels with tracks popping up on compilations on Fabric, M_nus and Cocoon. Latest single 'Coma Couch Surfing' is on the debut release for new label Items & Things. Joining Black will be baby-faced John Dahlback who at just twenty years of age has cranked out more productions than he's had hot dinners. Introduced to electronic music by cousin Jesper, the younger Dahlback has released on labels such as K2, Giant Wheel, Brique Rouge, Dessous, Resopal and Jackmoves under his own name and aliases Hug, Huggotron, Hug & Pepp (with cousin Jesper). He's also already notched up one longplayer 'Man from the Fall' on Systematic with another one set to drop soon. Man or machine? Well, RA has never seen him in the flesh yet... Konrad Black and John Dahlback play The Warehouse in Leeds on September 30th, 2006 joined by Technique and Asylum residents.
