Swedish techno merchant Christian Smith brings his trademark funky rhythms to his new compilation 'Ekspozicija 05' due out in November.
Along with Adam Beyer, Christian Smith was one of the driving forces of the Swedish techno scene in the mid-late nineties. He's best known for his big room, funky techno produced with John Selway on labels such as Intec, Primate and his own label Tronic Music. The pair have recently completed a remix of Josh Wink's 'Higher State Of Consciousness' plus a new 12 inch for Wink's Ovum label.
Next up for Smith is the fifth installment of the Ekspozicija compilation series, the follow up to Slam's CD earlier this year. Whereas the Scottish duo spiced up the previously hard-hitting techno series with minimal techno, Smith brings his trademark funky rhythms and a sprinkle of tech house and electrohouse. The disc includes cuts from Frankie, Layo & Bushwacka!, Booka Shade, Swoop (aka Stephan Bodzin), Technasia, Marko Nastic and the Ozgur Can remix of the Smith & Selway classic 'Move'.
