  • Sonar Kollektiv nu-jazz outfit Jazzanova launch their forthcoming compilation 'Secret Love 3' with a free concert in London this weekend. These days everyone associates the Sonar Kollektiv label with Ame's monster club hit 'Rej' by Ame, but fewer will know that the label is run by Jazzanova, a German collective who spin nu-jazz, broken beat and jazz house, setting an early blueprint for Compost Records with eclectic fare incorporating elements of folk as well as Brazilian and African music. Next week the six-piece unit release their compilation 'Secret Love 3', described as 'their most electronic yet'. They're launching the album in London this Saturday. Jazzanova will be joined by latest Sonar Kollektiv signing Thief, who will perform live with his three-piece band; Seiji from Bugz in the Attic and Resoul, the man behind Berlin record store Soultrade. Jazzanova play at the Big Chill House in London on Saturday, October 21, 2006. Entry is free.
