Groove is Germany’s top dance music magazine – each month we find ourselves fingering its pages at the bookshop even though about the only thing we can read are the DJ charts and top 50. Each year Groove also do a readers poll, and judging by last year’s winners, which included Trentemoller, Richie Hawtin and Kompakt, it’s refreshingly free of the old guard who’ve haunted dance popularity polls for years.
But that’s not the only reason to vote. There’s also a chance to win a laptop and a copy of software production studio Ableton Live 6. Other prizes up for grabs include a portable Playstation; a turntable; sound gear; FM Buddha machines; prize packs from Clone Records, Rough Trade and Mobilee; jeans and shoes; as well as movies on DVD.
As the German techno sound slowly spreads its wings internationally, we think it makes sense for non-German speakers to have their say in the poll too, so we broke out the dictionaries and translated it into English for you. The entry form is in German, but it’s pretty simple to navigate.
