Simian Mobile Disco.
Simian Mobile Disco is James and Jas, a pair of electro-rock true believers who broke off from the body of indie band Simian back in 2003. These days they're the vanguard of the "new rave" thingamajig, which is getting scruffy young rockers out to the clubs, which can only be a good thing. Simian's track 'Never Be Alone' was grist for the Justice remix mill. C'mon, you know the one.
As DJs, the East London pair bring a rock n roll brashness to electro club floors, their DJ mixes and their own releases. SMD's latest release is the white label 'Tits & Acid', which should tell you a thing or two about what they're interested in.
RA badgered the Simian lawyers for access to the duo, and finally a meeting was set up in which we sat at one end of a long table and Simian sat at the other. We eyeballed them until they opened their record bag and found out what they are fighting with.
