  • November 25 2006. Radioactivity is a weekly roundup of the best radio shows, podcasts and downloadable sets online. This week Will Saul, Desyn Masiello and Butane. *** It's so simple: Will Saul and his Simple label have been bridging the gap between London and Berlin of late, releasing artists such as My My, Jesse Rose and King Roc. Will's made a new mix for November where you can sample the latest Simple wares. The mix includes cuts from Simple artists Sideshow, Sebo K and Content plus tracks by Isolee, Jimpster, Âme and DJ Koze. You can stream the set in the mixes section of the Simple website. Check the forum for the full tracklist. Going Dutch: Want to get in the mood before going out? Dutch station DJ Broadcast has three sets to bump n grind to while you put your party frock on. The first is a one-hour live set from this week's RA podcast picks, Berlin collective My My. Next up is a one hour mix from proggy minimal duo Audiofly followed by a set from Desyn Masiello recorded at this year's Extrema Festival in the Netherlands. Each set starts on the hour between 9pm and 12am GMT+1. Saturday Night Live: Keeping on the Dutch airwaves, Radio538's Dance Department show broadcasts short 30-minute mixes every Saturday night 2 a.m. - 4 a.m. GMT+1. This week's sets come from Steve Angello, Danny Howells, Princess Superstar and Chris Lake. From 12 a.m. - 2 a.m. GMT+1, the station also hosts the weekly shows by Armin Van Buuren and Carl Cox. The last four transmissions are archived on the site so check back midweek if you miss the live broadcast. Cooking with gas: Deep, wonky minimal techno don Butane has a 70 minute mix taken from a DJ set recorded at Fuse in Brussels earlier this month for download from his Alphahouse Records website. Like that? Butane also has another mix recorded at The Works in Detroit in the mixes section over at Dumb Unit. From Israel with Love: Guy Gerber's releases on John Digweed's Bedrock and Sven Vath's Cocoon labels have the purists' knickers in a twist for filling in some of the divide between prog and techno. The Israeli makes the proggy end of techno or the techno end of prog (depending on whether you club in Frankfurt or Nottingham) but as a DJ, Gerber also brings the party. When was progressive ever this much fun? Whatever you want to call it, RA likes the sound of Gerber's set from this year's DEMF. It's an oldie but worth checking out in case it slipped underneath your radar. *** There you have it. If you have any links to fantastic music which you want to share with the world, post them in the forum or send 'em along to infoATresidentadvisor.net with the subject line 'Radioactivity'. *** Radioactivity - delivered to your door with the milk every Saturday morning GMT.
