Funk, jazz, Italo disco, deep house and acid techno feature on the latest raid-your-record-shelves 'Choice' compilation mixed by the S Man aka Roger Sanchez.

American DJ/producer Roger Sanchez is best known for the summery house single 'Another Chance', which went all the way to the top of the singles chart. But he's also handed in classy rerubs of Daft Punk and Chic plus two full longplayers, 'First Contact' and this summer's 'Come with Me'. As a DJ, Sanchez is known for his sexy house sets that include everything from Latin rhythms to soulful house to tribal and have graced dancefloors from Miami to Barcelona.

Following in the footsteps of Jeff Mills, John Digweed and Derrick Carter, Sanchez has been chosen to mix the latest installment in the long-running 'Choice' series, which invites DJs to dig deep and collate some of their earliest musical influences.

"I feel honoured to have been asked and it has been a pleasure putting it together, "says Sanchez. " I'm at a point now that I can look back on how the dance scene has grown and put the development of my career right next to it. It's nice to go back and underline what started it all."

The double-CD contains twenty-seven tracks, including six re-edits by Sanchez. Disc one ranges from the Afro-beat of Fela Kuti to the funk of Lafayette Afro Rock and the electro of Alexander Robotnick. Disc two is the clubbier volume, kicking off on Frankie Knuckles and featuring the Joey Beltram classic 'Energy Flash'.

Next up for Sanchez is an acting gig in a film called ‘Johnny Postal’ where he'll play a drug dealing pimp as well as soundtrack the music for the character.
