  • Hot on the heels of his rated 'Camino Del Sol' remix, French producer Joakim unveils a new album. 'Monsters and Silly Songs' will be released mid-January. Joakim's sound is a bit of a mixed bag: part club music, part jazz, part electronic experimentalism. Aside from the new album, recently Joakim has been gigging with his Ectoplasmic Band, as well as readying himself to record a new Poni Hoax album, a disco mix compilation for Colette and remixing Gucci Soundsystem's 'A Carpenter', which will be out on DFA Records next year. For 'Monsters and Silly Songs', as always, Joakim himself tackles the artwork. Out in the clubs, Joakim does both live sets and DJs, but for a sample of where his DJ head is at, Tigersushi have a couple of his mixes to download. The first is “chilled out disco” and the second is a club mix recorded live at Club Propaganda in Moscow. Londoners can catch a live set from Joakim and the Ectoplasmic Band on New Year's Eve at Fabric alongside Justice, Meat Katie and Erol Alkan. Click for full details.
