  • Carl Craig starts a new radio show, Ellen Allien podcast and Gabriel Ananda takes on the Essential Mix this week.
Essential Ananda: Gabriel Ananda isn't just known for making big anthems with cool ('Doppelwhipper') and unpronounceable ('Bassmaschinchen', 'Ihre persönliche Glücksmelodie') names, he also DJs. This weekend, the king of melodic techno takes on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix for the first time. Tune inn at Sunday 2:00 a.m. - 4:00 a.m. GMT. Legs eleven: If you're heading to the Dam for a big clubbing weekend, be sure to check out Amsterdam's Club 11 which always seems to have tasty line-ups. The club also regularly records its artists and stashes them over at 3VOOR12. Recently added sets from December include a funky minimal mix by Daniel Bell and housey sets by Radio Slave and Luke Solomon. Yum! Demon Days: Carl Craig has a new show Demon Days on Samurai.FM. Craig's first mix is a keeper, including new Faze Action remix as well as cuts from Paul Kalkbrenner, Dennis Ferrer, Robert Hood and Martin Buttrich. This is the shit! Weather or Not: Label boss of BPitch Control has done a DJ mix called 'No Snow in Berlin' for electronic mag XLR8R which includes tracks from Bpitch artists Modeselektor, Feadz, Apparat, Sascha Funke and Paul Kalkbrenner. Download it here. Dance Department: This Wednesday podcast is a nice way to beat the midweek blues. The Dance Department show includes thirty minutes of old and new club tracks followed by a thirty-minute guest mix. Recent guests include Tiesto, Sven Vath, Oxia, Djuma Soundsystem and Miss Kittin. Subscribe to the podcast and get all seventy-one (and counting) podcasts. Whew!
