The Field's debut artist album ‘From Here We Go Sublime’ arrives on Kompakt in March. “My music is somewhere between soundscapes and ‘classic songs’,” says Stockholm resident Axel Willner.

The Field is Stockholm’s Axel Willner, a man with his fingers in many ambientish musical pies (he also records as Cordouan, Lars Blek, James Larsson and is a member of the band Speedwax). Dance fans will most know him as a 4/4 Kompakt talent to watch: Last year his tracks as The Field were standouts on the ‘Total 7’ comp and ‘Pop Ambient 2007’, while one track from his 2006 EP ‘Sun & Ice’ made #27 in our Top 30 Tracks of 2006.

The Field’s eagerly anticipated debut artist album ‘From Here We Go Sublime’ includes three singles from ‘Sun & Ice’ alongside seven new cuts, all of which meld pop song structures with ambient textures and clever sampling techniques. A Field 12” single will be released at the same time, though no word as yet from Kompakt as to whether it contains new tracks.

You can preview a number of tracks from the album over at The Field’s MySpace page.

‘From Here We Go Sublime’ tracklist

1. Over the Ice
2. A Paw in My Face
3. God Things End
4. The Little Heart Beats So Fast
5. Everyday
6. Silent
7. The Deal
8. Sun & Ice
9. Mobilia
10. From Here We Go Sublime

‘From Here We Go Sublime’ by The Field will be released on Kompakt on March 26th, 2007.

Fri, 25 Jan 2008So Good So good! I've had this album for quite a while now, but only listened to it once ages ago and then forgot about it!
But I'm listening to it now and wondering how could I have forgotten about this one!? Its truly one of the nicest albums I have heard in like... forever?
