“After four years of Freak n’ Chic, it seems natural to have a compilation,” says label boss Dan Ghenacia. The 2CD label showcase ‘Rendez-Vous’ drops in April.

Freak n’Chic is the French label releasing house and electro cuts by the likes of David K, U&I (Ghenacia and David K), Shonky, Sweetlight, Jamie Jones and :Terry:. “I like to discover new talent – it’s one of the goals of the label,” says label boss Ghenacia. “No one is signed as exclusive to Freak n’ Chic. Everybody is free. I am free and want the others to feel free.”

‘Rendez-Vous’ is a double CD pack with CD1 featuring twelve exclusive new unmixed tracks from label regulars. “Some deep tunes and some dancefloor tracks,” is how Ghenacia describes it. “This a good representation of what we do and our style - some freak, some chic…” CD2 is mixed by label regulars Shonky [Mobilee. Sub Static] and Dyed Soundroom. ““I wanted them to mix it together as they have supported me from the beginning and they know really well the productions on the label,” says Ghenacia. “Plus they are amazing DJs.” The pair include older Freak n’ Chic tracks as well as the label’s latest 12”, ‘Boul de Nerf’ from currently white hot producer David K [Cocoon, Turbo].
