Lusine's latest album on Ghostly ‘Podgelism’ features remixes from Robag Wruhme, Apparat, Lawrence and Matthew Dear.

‘L’usine’ is French for ‘factory’, and that’s what Seattle-based musician Jeff McIlwain is in a sense. He’s been churning out visceral, abstract electronic music for nearly ten years now, first on Isophlux and Hymen, and most recently on Ann Arbor label Ghostly International, home to Matthew Dear and Ryan Elliott among others. Lusine has a dancefloor side, showcased on his Inside/Out 12" from 2005, but his full-length efforts such as ‘Serial Hodgepodge’ from 2004 have tended towards a more home-listening IDM approach.

Lusine’s latest longplayer ‘Podgelism’ is a collection of remixes of tracks from ‘Serial Hodgepodge’, and an impressive lineup of techno producers have been called in for the job. Robag Wruhme's ‘The Stop’ is billed as “a club burner of the highest order”, while John Tejada and Lawrence also offer up typically dancefloor-friendly tech house. Elsewhere there is Apparat from Bpitch Control, Matthew Dear as well as Deru, Cabanne, Dimbiman and Lusine himself on remix duties. Not a bad cast.

You can preview all tracks from the album over at Ghostly, or download a couple of previews: Lusine’s remix of his own ‘Still Frame’ and the Cepia remix of ’Flat’.

’Podgelism’ tracklist

01. Drip (Apparat remix)
02. Make It Easy (John Tejada remix)
03. Flat (Lusine remix)
04. Flat for You (Matthew Dear remix)
05. Still Frame (Lusine remix)
06. Auto Pilot (Deru remix)

08. The Stop (Robag Wruhme remix)
09. Everything Under the Sun (Lawrence remix)
10. Flat (Dimbiman feat. Cabanne remix)
11. Falling In (Lusine remix)

Ghostly will also release a 12” version of the Podgelism remix collection titled “Podgelism: Select Remixes” on March 20. These are the more dancefloor-friendly tracks.
