  • Thomas Fehlmann follows up his critically acclaimed album ‘Lowflow’ with a new full length release on Kompakt. ‘Honigpumpe’ (‘Honey Pump’ in English) will be released in May. Fehlmann has done many things over his thirty year long career. He was in the avant garde pop band ‘Palais Schaumburg’ in the eighties, he worked together with Basic Channel’s Moritz Von Oswald and Juan Atkins as 3MB in the nineties, and for the last ten years he’s been a fulltime member of the Orb. On his own, Fehlmann has produced two full length dub/techno/ambient albums (‘Flow’ and ‘Lowflow’) and after a twenty year break, for the last couple of years he’s been on a neverending laptop club tour around the world. Fehlmann describes the experience of getting back in the clubs as “a recharge of my batteries many times over” and the press notes state that playing his sets out has had a definite effect on his sound. There is a new version of his 2004 anthem ‘Little Big Horn’, this time morphed into an ambient wash, while ‘The Road’, Fehlmann’s reworking of Canned Heat’s ‘On the Road Again’ from his ‘Emo Pack EP’ gets another rethink as ‘T R N T T F’. You can hear ‘The Road’ over at Fehlmann’s MySpace. Fehlmann also produces a weekly radio show, OceanClubRadio, with Gudrun Gut. You can stream the show here. 'Honigpumpe' tracklist 1.
