Electro rockers Simian Mobile Disco mix the latest in the Bugged Out! series.

Previous DJs in the ‘Suck My Deck’ series have been Ivan Smagghe, Damian Lazarus, Erol Alkan and Miss Kittin so you know you’re in for electro. This time SMD weigh their selection heavily towards newer cuts with a couple of oldies thrown in for good measure (LFO’s classic ‘Freak’ makes an appearance).

The mix is the first release in a busy year for Simian. Their debut album, ‘Attack Decay Sustain Release’, is due out in June and they’ve also got a ‘Bugged Out: Classics’ album ready for release in the summer.

You can preview the mix over at SMD’s Suck My Deck website.

‘Suck My Deck’ tracklist

1 Joakim – Drumtrax
2 Liaisons Dangereuses – Peut être …pas
3 Fast Eddie – Hip House
4 A-J-Scent – Da Posse
5 Simian Mobile Disco – It’s The Beat
6 Vincent Markowski – The Madness Of Moths
7 Holden – Idiot
8 Sebastian – Walkman
9 Jack Frost and The Circle Jerks – Shout
10 Para One – Midnight Swim (Riton Rerub)
11 Ms. Thing – Love Guide feat. Switch
12 JoJo De Freq – Make Some Noise!
13 Klaxons – Magick (SMD Mix)
14 Partial Arts – Trauermusik
15 Buraka Som Sistema – Yah! Feat. Petty
16 Kerowack – Naf Monk (Jaimie Fanatic’s Kiss Thiss Mix)

18 The White Noise – Love Without Sound

‘Suck My Deck’ mixed by Simian Mobile Disco is out now on New State Music.

Tue, 01 Jan 2008With you on that one. Simian's mix is f.i.n.e. but doesn't come close to the earlier Lazarus & Smagghe installments. It's not a write-off though, there are a handful of great tracks on there...

Mon, 23 Apr 2007Really enjoying this mix at the mo! Saw SMD at chibuku in Liverpool, just the once and they were awesome. Generally this cd is a pretty acurate representation of them and their dj sets, which you dont always get with mix cds.
(except for a couple of instances/tracks which have emceeing/rapping in them!? why oh why?)

Full of the tracks I've been hearing in clubs (at proper electro nights)since the beginning of the year.

Cheers guys!
