Israeli talent Guy Gerber follows up his 2006 hit ‘Sea of Sand’ with a debut longplayer. ‘Late Bloomers’ will be release mid-May.

Guy Gerber started out making progressive house in 2002, but in 2004 he did something special: he made the genre new again with his hit ‘Stoppage Time’, a pitch-shifted peaktimer that scored big amongst the techno crowd a year later. Sven Vath, Kiki and Holden couldn’t get enough of it, so much so that Vath signed Guy Gerber to his Cocoon label in 2006, where he released ‘Sea of Sand’, a minimal-prog hybrid that bridged the boundaries between the genres like no other.

Gerber is following up on his big successes with his debut longplayer, which promises to freshly meld house, techno and trance, but with its own sensibility which defies easy categorisation. Gerber includes his previous single ‘Seagull’, new versions of his 12”s ‘Sea of Sand’ and ‘Belly Dancing’, as well as nine new cuts on the album.

The album promises to be a dance album through and through, albeit with a home-listening bent that’s hogging the turntables at the RA offices this week. But don’t believe us, check for yourself – for a limited time only, RA is offering the chance for readers to download an exclusive preview from the album. Check out the catchy, synth-loving ‘Unfulfilled’ for a taster of what to expect from Guy Gerber this summer.

Wed, 16 May 2007Thanks  for the sample track. I've always been a big fan of Guy. I read the EQ article the other day and I have to agree. John Digweed must be kicking himself right now for not signing this guy.

I'm def going to be getting this album.
