Legendary New York house label Strictly Rhythm relaunches next month with a compilation mixed by Masters At Work and a new single from Todd Terry.

'Strictly M.A.W', a double compilation mixed by Louie Vega and Kenny Dope, will be Strictly Rhythm's first original mix CD since the label closed after thirteen years in 2002. The album is made up entirely of past label classics from artists such as Sole Fusion, Barbara Tucker, Logic, Underground Solution, David Morales and of course Masters at Work.

The label will also release its first original production in five years, 'Get Down', a collaboration between Todd Terry, Kenny Dope, DJ Sneak and Terry Hunter, and featuring Tara McDonald, best known for the vocals on Axwell's 'Feel the Vibe'.

Thu, 30 Aug 2007Hi Vinny, I wrote the review above and I want to be very clear to you about what I was saying about vocals. I like vocals, and I think there are some great vocals on this compilation. However I also think that many of these vocals have dated somewhat and furthermore that for people coming to this music for the first time (of which there are many) some of them may be off-putting, particularly on the Kenny Dope mix which is wall-to-wall vocal tracks for a large portion of its length.

Wed, 29 Aug 2007good....glad to see some 'deep house' popping up on this board. this website caters too all that minimalist/techy crap neways. is it just me or everything that does get good reviews on this board happen to be of that genre???? when was the last time deep house got stellar reviews?? anyone who says 'deep house' sucks or is corny cuz of the vocals - come here to new york city at any club and let me know what the style of music is that they are playing
