Frankie Knuckles, David Morales, Satoshi Tomiie and Hector Romero kick off their eighth summer residency in Ibiza this month.
All four DJs were part of the Def Mix studio which defined and redefined the sound of piano-driven New York house in the eighties and nineties. Tomiie and Romero have since shifted their focus to progressive stable Saw Recordings, but each summer the four rotate the turntable duties on Saturday nights at Pacha in Ibiza for the combined Def Mix and Saw Recordings night.
This year the residency will run a month longer: seventeen weeks from June 9 until September 29 as part of the Def Mix 20th anniversary celebrations. Guest DJs include Jeff Mills, Danny Howells, Hernan Cattaneo, David Guetta and Victor Calderone.
Def Mix will also host sunset preparties each Saturday night at Café Mambo. Look out for the 'Best of Def Mix' triple CD compilation forthcoming on Defected.
Def Mix and Saw Recordings take over Pacha in Ibiza from June 9, 2007 to September 29, 2007.
