RBMA 2010 : LONDON

Barcelona players Raum put up some serious competition to Sonar this year with an all-night outdoor rave by the beach on Thursday.

The biggest of all the off-Sonar events, Raum Playa features a who who's of techno with Gabriel Ananda, Jay Haze, Craig Richards, Funk D'Void, Ripperton and Audiofly heading up the bill. There's also minimal from M_nus affiliates Matt John, Ryan Crosson as well as a big German contingent including Dapayk, Axel Bartsch and Benno Blome. The festival will be divided into three stages, including one stage devoted to live sets. There is also a secret Canadian guest: no word as yet as to who the mystery man is, but finger crossed for a big name, eh? Check the event details for the 28-strong lineup and set times.

But it doesn't finish then. Once five o'clock rolls around, get along to the secret all-day afters - a very rare turn of events in afterhours-shy Barcelona. The Octopus Showcase happens from 6 a.m to 6 p.m on Friday with many of the names from Raum Playa doing overtime including Gabriel Ananda, Audiofly, Ripperton, Craig Richards, Dapayk, Funk D'Void and Matt Tolfrey.

How do you find out the secret location? Well, you can ask around at Raum Playa for details, or simply enter our competition and we'll let you in on the secret. RA is giving away fifteen pairs of tickets to Octopus Showcase afterparty. Click below for details on how to win.

Competition: Octopus Showcase tickets

Tue, 26 Jun 2007thanks you very much for your critiques. keep in mind this was our first festival and we are well aware about the collateral damage in this major operation. anymore critiques please send to info@raum.im and we'll keep them in mind for next year!

PS: most of the artist were amazed about our great sound system. the mess was the live tent (because the amazing forum production team we paid for went for dinner and left the place without sound the first 2 hours and we had to fix it on our own... More

Wed, 20 Jun 2007This event was disgraceful. No information about who was playing, staff were not informed either, the needles were jumping all night in one of the tents- so there was no point having dj's at all there, no free water, staff were unfriendly, drinks were too expensive, sound was bad, 3 sprinklers even came on in one area and wet all the people. What is the point- either do an event properly or don't do it at all.
