Don’t flick past ‘Free Your Mind’ by Social Being in the record bins – it’s the new Jay Haze/Ricardo Villalobos collaboration.

It’s well-timed, this one. The two-track 12” promises to bring a bit of the Ibiza house vibe to summer parties, with Villalobos reigning in his avant-garde tendencies and Haze channeling his hip-hop attitude, and the result promises to be thirteen minutes of happy house that’ll make sure everyone's having a good time. On the flip they find room for a noodling guitar solo, for a more Balearic hippie vibe.

‘Free Your Mind’ is not the first Haze/Villalobos collaboration. The pair previously worked together on two singles from Contexterrior in 2004, and they shared a studio space when Haze first moved to Berlin.

Tracklist

1. Free Your Mind
2. Free Your Mind (Guitar mix)

‘Free Your Mind’ by Social Being is out now on Tuning Spork Extra.comment 8 Comments
