Shlomi Aber releases State of No One

"It's contemporary chill out I guess, but I'm not so bothered about finding a genre for it," says 'Freakside' producer Shlomi Aber.

Shlomi Aber follows up 'Freakside' with a home-listening debut album on Renaissance. 'State of No One' arrives in October.

Aber is another Israeli talent who merges house and techno with a loose nod to progressive. Since teaming up with Guy Gerber on last year's 'Sea of Sand' for Cocoon, the young producer has come into his own with big singles such as 'Crop Duster and 'Freakside' - the latter is one of the biggest 12"s of 2007 so far, played by DJs as varied as Matthias Tanzmann, Marc Romboy and Hernan Cattaneo.

Unlike Gerber's recent debut album, Aber has opted instead for an album of shorter tracks designed for home listening. "The idea of producing a whole album of (hopefully!) beautiful electronica really appealed to me," says Aber. "It's contemporary chill out I guess. But I'm not so bothered about finding a genre for it. I just hope people like it at the end of the day".

The fifty-minute long twelve-tracker marries local influences, lo-fi electronics and even vocals, and includes new versions of 'Sea Of Sand' as well as lead single 'Moods'.

Tracklist

1. Looking In God's Eyes
2. Eastern Breeze
3. State Of No One
4. Never Cried
5. My BAO Dreams
6. Don't Be A Fool Feat. Guy Mantzur
7. The Thing That Nobody Knows
8. Moods Feat. Lemon (Shlomi's Exclusive Album Version)
9. The Paradise Garage
10. Random Fiction Feat. Anat Ben Hemo
11. Sea Of Sand Feat. Guy Gerber (Shlomi's Exclusive Album Edit)
12. Same But Different Feat. Itamar Sagi & 3KO

Fri, 12 Sep 2008Too bad he dices up Phylps TraksII on the flip of the single for the title track. (Shlomi's Deep Dub).

I'm sure he's a decent guy, but he hasn't had an original idea that I've heard yet.
