Thomas Melchior promises less microhouse and more consistency on his new album on Perlon. 'No Disco Future' will be released in November.

Thomas Melchior has stayed true to the underground throughout his twenty years in the music business. Hailed as a pioneer of minimal house, Melchior's production work as Soul Capsule, Sunpeople and solo as Melchior Productions are rated for both their groove and their unusual subtlety.

'No Disco Future' promises a less chopped-up minimal approach than his 2004 LP on Playhouse, 'The Meaning, but according to the release notes, you can look forward to discreet vocals, spherical soundscapes and harmonic structures.

No word as yet on whether there will be a CD version, but don't look for the digital download - Perlon don't release mp3s.

Tracklist

A1 Prepare For Love
A2 Where's the Happiness
B1 Out There
B2 The Hypnotist
C1 Her Majesty
C2 Black Mother
D1 Coming Up
D2 Water Soul

'No Disco Future' is out on Perlon Records on November 11th, 2007.

Sun, 17 Feb 2008This is, hands down, one of the great House albums of all time. The way it builts is just amazing (after track 4 you're thinking 'he can't possibly top this' and then he does, and again, and again.) But for some reason with Melchior I get the feeling he's being forgotten. He seems a total DJ's/trainspotter kinda producer, which is a shame (hopefully i'm wrong about this.)
