Swede-in-Denmark Martinez bets on minimal techno, dub and deep house on his second longplayer. A Chemical Imbalance' arrives next month.

Martinez, aka Martin Swanstein, started out making deep tech house on his label Out of Orbit, but these days, he's eschewing melodies and hook lines in favour of more minimal techno twelves on his latest offshoot Re:connected. Second album 'A Chemical Balance' looks to cement his transition away from tech house even further, swinging between wonky minimal ('Tuna Belly'), Chicago deep house ('Lowdown') and dubbier grooves ('The Turtle-March').

Unlike his first vinyl-only longplayer, 'A Chemical Imbalance' will also be released on CD as a mix. "I've always preferred to listen to techno music as a mix without breaks in between the tracks," explains Martinez. " And as this surely is a techno album I decided to mix the songs together for the CD version."

Tracklist

1. Haunted by your Scream
2. Isolation
3. Tuna Belly
4. Razor-Blade
5. Lowdown
6. Sinus Wave
7. A Chemical Imbalance
8. The Turtle-March
9. Borrmaskin
10. Land-Crab
11. Square Form
12. La Macchina

Martinez' 'A Chemical Imbalance' is released on Re:connected on November 22, 2007.

quite possibly my favourite producer at the moment.
