Berghain label Ostgut Ton are set to release their debut artist album, ’Serenity’ by Prosumer and Murat Tepeli.

Prosumer, aka Achim Brandenburg, is resident at the Panorama Bar, the housey upstairs half of the Berghain complex in Berlin, but less is known about collaborator Tepeli. "It makes me very happy to do music with Murat,” says Prosumer. “I think he's immensely talented. We are simply soul mates."

The album was inspired by the duo’s live gigs, and recorded long-distance style between Murat’s home base in Cologne and Prosumer’s pad in Berlin. Promising to be a union of tracks and songs rather than merely a collection of dance cuts, Serenity contains both collabs and solo tracks from Prosumer and Tepeli, as well guest vocals by the duo’s manager Elif Biçer. "So far, we've only played a few gigs together with Elif", says Murat, "but it's been magic every time. When we met to record the album, Elif contributed her vocals completely out of the blue, but perfectly capturing the mood of those moments.”

Prosumer, who scored a huge hit in 2005 with his vocal track ‘The Craze’, is inspired by the Chicago house of Ron Trent, Chez Damier, Armando, DJ Pierre, Cajmere and Fingers Inc, and ‘Serenity’ promises to contain a swag of Chicago-inspired house grooves. The album will be released in two versions, with the CD containing seventeen club and home listening tunes, while the double 12" features extended versions of the most danceable tracks and well as some exclusive cuts.
