  • Sascha Funke, the man with the coolest real name in dance music (if you believe discogs), dishes up deep minimal with a slice of pop on his second longplayer Mango, due out in February. It's been four years since Funke's debut artist album Bravo demonstrated his flair for wistful melodies and dreamy synths. Since then he's been concentrating on individual 12"s for mothership BPitch Control as well as turning in a ravey mix for the label's Boogybytes mix series. Follow-up album Mango promises more of the same deep atmospherics as Bravo, this time with a hint of pop with Funke, labelmates Paul Kalkbrenner and Zander TV as well as MIA guitarist TimTim all getting on the mic. Press notes describe the nine-tracker, which will be BPitch Control's first big release for 2008, as, "Partly hypnotic, partly tripped-out and with a tinge of melancholy". Tracklist 1. Mango 07:01 2. We Are Facing The Sun 07:10 3. Feather 05:33 4. Take A Chance With Me 06:13 5. Summer Rain 03:17 6. Double Checked 07:16 7. Lotre (Mehr Fleisch) 07:08 8. Chemin Des Figons 08:17 9.
