Mobilee boss Anja Schneider takes time out from a brutal DJ schedule to release a debut album.

Variously spotted in Japan, South America and the US recently, Anja Schneider has finally found the time to put together a debut album. Co-produced with Paul Brtschitsch, with whom she collaborated on the single 'Loop de Mer'/'Belize', Beyond the Valley is billed as inky, supple cuts with a dark pastoral feel.

Anja explains the meaning of the album’s title: "It's the place where your parents told you not to go play as a child. Why? Because anything could happen. It's dangerous and anarchic. All the creatures that have been chased out of the village have gone there to hide." Sounds a bit like clubland then.

Watch out for also Anja and Mobilee and the WMC this month. Details here.

Tracklist

01 Safari
02 Mole
03 Maki
04 Beyond The Valley
05 Gimlet
06 Cascabel
07 Belize
08 Get Away
09 Little Red Riding Hood
10 Fish At Night

’Beyond The Valley’ by Anja Schneider will be released on Mobilee in May, 2008.

Mon, 14 Jul 2008Nice one this! it is cruisy yet restrained and that makes it a breeze.
Anja's stuff has been awesome off late.. melodious too!

Belize and Mole stand out as very good releases. I will definately be getting more of her work in times to come.. recommend it too!

Mon, 23 Jun 2008listened the whole album at once only one time. this release seemed to meet all the expectations one have had with such a great compliance - so you could celebrate these well-known sounds or getting more and more bored by this stuff. really appreciate anja schneider as a dj and for a few tracks too. the sounds might be polished and for sure there is a lot of work in this release - anyway, regarding the fact of the essential meaning of melodies (better melody elements) it has to be mentioned... More

Wed, 11 Jun 2008It's a great album. The CD is nice to listen in the car. The vinyl works as well on the floor. Especially the tracks A1 and B1. Just great work. 4/5.

Sun, 08 Jun 2008Saw her at the Townhouse in Miami at the winter music conference and she was wonderful..her counterparts, Sebo K, Pan-pot and Dory also put on amazing shows resulting in a memorable day for all who partied on the rooftop...top marks from Canada

Tue, 03 Jun 2008Indeed. Sounds too polished at first but it really has grown on me, there are some touches that remind me of early Sandoz tracks. And yes, these tracks demand to be mixed.
