Fabric favorite DJ Yoda gets his heavily anticipated crack at the FabricLive series. FabricLive 39 drops next month.

Yoda has long been a DJ’s DJ with an anything-goes approach to track selection and a sharp sense of humor. He took the 2001 DMC Scratch DJ of the Year award, and he has released three installments of a highly-regarded mixtape series How to Cut & Paste. In 2006 he produced a full-length The Amazing Adventures of DJ Yoda, which saw collaborations with longtime hip-hop heroes Biz Markie and Jungle Brothers.

FabricLive 39 reflects Yoda’s all-encompassing love of music that makes you dance, promising to smash together hip-hop, gangster rap,‘80s pop, soul, Baltimore club, drum ‘n bass and dubstep across 25 tracks. Yoda might not take himself too seriously, but just don’t call him ironic: “Irony pisses me off in music. None of the stuff I do is ironic—it annoys me when people say I’m trying to be ironic. I have [one] simple rule: if I love a song, I’ll play it. I’m just playing the music that I honestly love.”

Tue, 29 Apr 2008Yo mwah I totally understand! I still think after several listens this Yoda CD is wack. For me, I just can't get over the track selection! Blister in the sun? Its tricky? Salt n Pepa? And that f!@321 salmon dance song!?
WACK.
You need this one ppls:

I think the A-track Fabric will probably be good as long as he doesn't turn it into a Fools Gold label showcase. We shall... More

Tue, 29 Apr 2008Someone who is FINALLY on my wave? OMG!
the 'bonus beats' were the best bit.. maybe because he uses Scottie B, Titts, Herve and Bamabouce? Hehe

Listenable.. but bit too all-over-the-shop for me.
Although the Sexual Healing track is great.. was a bit out of place in the mix. Suits someone like Mark Ronson more.

Votes up for A-trak to do one.. he's played at Fabric recently... so maybe one soon!??
