Montreal’s Mutek Festival announced the first names of its forthcoming ninth edition today, promising sets from the likes of techno legend
Carl Craig, beloved Brit
Radio Slave, dubstep doyens
Kode 9 & Spaceape and Swedish producer
The Field, who will be performing his celebrated ambient house with a live band.
Other performers will include a Vakant special with
Onur Özer and
Mathias Kaden, the tight techno of
Jeremy P. Caulfield and German and French pranksters
Modeselektor and
Nôze. (No word yet on whether Modeselektor will be bringing the monkey suits.)
With more acts to be announced in mid-April, we’re figuring this one to be the best reasons to go to Canada since, well, the last edition of Mutek. The festival will be held from May 28th to June 1st, 2008.
