Applications have just opened for this year’s Red Bull Music Academy sessions in Barcelona.
Now ten years old, RBMA is a hands-on production school for aspiring electronic musicians which holds annual two-week long sessions in cities such as Dublin, New York, Sao Paulo, Cape Town, Rome and Toronto. In 2008, it’s Barcelona’s turn, and not only do successful applicants get free flights and accommodation to the city, they get hands on experience with gear, schooling from the likes of Carl Craig, Larry Heard or Mathew Jonson, and just generally a chance to rub shoulders with likeminded musicians from around the world.
Each year RMBA accepts sixty students, and the application period has just started, finishing up on May 4th.
The Red Bull Music Academy runs in two sessions from September 21 to October 3, and October 12 to October 24.
